Word List

Your assignment is to write a word list with 10 words and post it here as a comment.

When you play your game, write down words you do not understand, or words which are difficult.

• Write down the word: ex. "realize" and translate it to Swedish (inse, förstå) 

• Write down the sentence you found the word in: ex. "I didn't realize our city's Llama Scout Troop was so well funded."

And translate the whole sentence to Swedish (Jag insåg inte att vår stads scoutkår hade så god ekonomi.)

• Write down the word class of your word: ex. Verb

• Write down some grammatical information about the word: ex. The word "realize" is in it's infinitiv form (to realize = att förstå)

So, make your own word list of 10 words (or more) with the extra information and then post it as a comment below.

Remember to read and learn from each others wordlists!

List of English Modal Verbs

 (8th Grade)

Your task is to write a list of 5 English Modal Verbs and post them here as comment.

When you play your game, watch for English Modal Verbs. Write them down in their context while playing.

• Write down the English Modal Verb: ex. "would" and translate into Swedish (skulle)

• Write down the sentence where you found the word: ex. "I'd (I would) like to buy some of this."

and translate the sentence into Swedish: (Jag skulle vilja köpa lite av detta.)

• Write down what the English Modal Verb expresses in the sentence: Request (begäran, förfrågan)

The Standard language of English or American English is the variety taught in schools and used in media and administration.

Examples of Non Standard Language is ex. slang or African American English.
